Passenger operation is still possible in 4x1, as this plan proves. There is a short two-platform station, and a backscene made of retaining walls and a car park on top (far left). Two sidings to the bottom left of the plan mean that a Class 08 can move a short ballast train around the layout, with a Class 153 providing the passenger services. This plan is most suited to a modern setting, although one tank engine in steam might also be possible.
