Euston to Manchester
12'x9'
This loft plan was designed around the idea of getting as close as possible to a full mainline service such as the West Coast Main Line. Two terminating stations could function as simplified versions of London and Manchester Piccadilly, while the intermediate stop could represent Stoke, Macclesfield or Stockport. If desired, the upper (Manchester) level could be further developed with a small rolling stock depot, on the top part of the plan. All the stations are greatly simplified in terms of their track plan, but clever use of model architecture could replicate the key features such as the overall roof at Piccadilly, the concrete roof at Euston or the station canopies at Macclesfield.
