Trafford Wharf Road
8'x2'
Hesitant as I am to design a layout so close to the ground of Salford United, this location has always fascinated me. In front of a large warehouse building of the 'Liverpool Warehousing Company Ltd', there's still the remnants of an industrial railway that once served the Salford Quays area. Having looked at old maps of the area, it seems that a dynamo works and lard factory were also present at this site, and either would make for some very interesting freight traffic! Locos would be the smallest you can buy - either a Hornby L&Y pug or a new Dapol Sentinel. The top photo at this location http://manchesterhistory.net/manchester/outside/warehouses.html shows the warehouse building used for the fiddle yard area.
