Moving away from the classic oval, a dockside or industrial theme is best suited to this layout, with a series of short loading bays providing opportunity for shunting puzzles. These could include using cards to represent each wagon, and shuffling and dealing the cards in order to generate a different train each time. A specified platform could then be identified as the location, and the collection and delivery of goods providing an entertaining way to operate the yard – no two puzzles are the same.
