Royal Mail
6'x1'
This plan is designed to function as a small Royal Mail depot in the 1980s or 1990s. With a short train of one or two carriages, the train arrives from right to left, loco first. Running around the train, the loco can then shunt the carriages back onto the platform for loading and unloading, before heading off again behind the backscene. I would imagine Class 47s or 25s shunting BR Blue and RES liveried parcels coaches, and some miniature lighting to help with the night-time atmosphere – all the better with the room lights off. If you are comfortable using it, using small sections of Hornby’s R621 Flexible Track would be a cheaper method than using lots of R610s.
