Lindau
13'x5'
Submitted by Charles Ely. When modelling a prototype, I often scale a Google Earth image and then drop track over the image. It helps me understand how the prototype operates. Since the available space and budget are never sufficient to model every track, it also helps determine what tracks to delete, and what tracks to shorten. Since no track manufacturer has everything you need, it also helps me determine what curves need to be changed. When it's time to add scenery, the image helps me locate streets, buildings and trees. This 4.5 meter x 1.6 meter, Z scale layout is the island Bahnhof in Lindau, Germany. The island is located on the North shore of Lake Constance. The points are all #8. The minimum radius is 220mm.
