This design takes inspiration from a city station such as Newcastle or York. Bay platforms and a range of sidings to the top right mean that plenty of locomotives can be accommodated, each taking turns to run express services from this busy railway hub. The bay to the lower end of the station could be used for Motorail or parcels services, breaking up the pattern of passenger trains.
